How the watermark is applied
The text is drawn diagonally across each page at a low opacity, roughly centered — the same visual pattern used by "DRAFT" or "SAMPLE" stamps on official documents. It's baked directly into the page content, so it stays with the PDF through any further merging or splitting.
Is a watermark actual security?
No — a text watermark is a visual deterrent and provenance marker, not access control. It doesn't prevent someone from viewing, copying, or redistributing the PDF; it just makes it obvious the document is a draft, confidential, or came from a specific source if it gets shared.
Frequently asked questions
Can I remove a watermark added by this tool?
Not with this tool — once saved, the watermark is part of the page content, the same as any other text on the page. Keep your original unwatermarked file if you might need it again.
Can I add a logo image instead of text?
Not with this tool — it only supports a text watermark. For stamping an image or logo onto a PDF, use PDF Editor, which supports positioned text (image stamping isn't currently supported either, but text placement is).
Is my PDF uploaded when I use this tool?
No. The PDF is read and watermarked entirely in your browser using a JavaScript PDF library — nothing is uploaded.
